  • A type of sweat lodge, a Temazcal is a purification ceremony; for relieving stress, cleansing toxins from the body, releasing negativity and revitalising life force. Especially beneficial for your immune system & balancing mind, body & spirit. Essentially, it is a steam bath in a natural dome. Large rocks are heated on a fire outside, then placed inside a natural bowl in the center of the dome & doused with water and herbs. The medicinal steam & the power of the natural elements help us to open and cleanse. The whole process of 4 rounds lasts between 1-3 hours depending on your needs, you can dip in & out as you like & are supported throughout.

  • Originally used by the ancient Mayan communities of Mexico & Central America to restore mother & child after childbirth, it is often referred to as ‘Womb of the Earth’ as its energy is distinctly nurturing, bringing us closer to mother nature.

  • A key part of indigenous medicine, used widely for thousands of years for the treatment & prevention of disease, stress, weight loss, depression, skin conditions, fibromyalgia & much more.

  • Expect to arrive at a campfire, with friendly faces & warm welcomes. Once the hot rocks are heated, you will enter the sweatlodge itself, where you will be seated on the ground in a circle, in very low light with around 10-20 other people. The rocks are gradually brought into the circle in 4 ‘rounds’ - between the rounds the dome is opened & sometimes you take this opportunity to drink water or pee! (detoxing happens fast)

During the rounds there may be speaking, drumming, singing or meditation, the ceremonies flow naturally & are a journey always. You can share music, words or just sit (or lie) & enjoy! After the ceremony we will be sharing fruit, water & hugs, another chance to connect, hang out, or sneak off to rest! Whatever you feel...

  • From the indigenous point of view, hapé is a sacred shamanic snuff medicine with profound healing effects. Hapé is made from different medicinal plants for different purposes – to induce visions, to have energy, and to enhance the senses with the aromatic fragrance of the plants used in the blend. Given that there are myriad medicinal plants you can blend into hapé, there are many various hapé recipes in existence - and these recipes are often closely guarded by the tribes as secrets.
